The "Insert as Document"-button in Open Office XML template (.docx)

This article outlines how to use the “Insert as Document”-functionality within the “Insert”-button in Open Office XML templates (.docx). This feature allows you to insert a document that is stored as a note in your CRM system.

Requirments: Available for DocumentsCorePack v5.97 and higher.

This blog article describes the main functionalities and features of the “Insert”-button in Open Office XML template (.docx). This button allows to easily insert additional contents in your Open Office XML (docx). Within this dropdown-button you can simply insert every MS CRM field as a “special”-field.

How to save document names separately - advanced settings

The settings of DocumentsCorePack now allows you to configure the "Name" and the "Subject" for the "Document Name" separately. Available vor v5.93 and higher.


[Save as DOCX]-button

This  feature offers you the option to save a document directly to the proper location in CRM without having to generate an activity. 
The location depends on the configuration, which is defined within the DocumentsCorePack server configuration tool.

To take adavantage of this new feature you need at least the following version:

 - DocumentsCorePack Client for MS CRM 2011 5.73


If/else-conditions in *.docx templates

It is often required to place conditional fields within a template like e.g. only print address lines when stored in the regarding CRM-record.


Filter linked entities: .docx templates

It is possible to filter the linked entities of a 1:N and a N:N relationship during the merge process based on their IDs.
This works in combination with DocumentsCorePack and AutoMerge, but only with .docx-templates.


How to add information of the current user to a document

It is quite common, that user information shows up within the document itself. (e.g. a “Best regards, firstname lastname” at the end of a quote).
This Step-By-Step tutorial describes how to add this relation to a template. In this example the Quote_base.docx template, that comes with the installation of DCP for CRM 2011, is used.

Please note: DocumentsCorePack (DCP) Client version 5.27 or higher is mandatory!


Feature-Outline: LookupDialog to pre-filter result rows

We have created a function offering the possibility to use a dialog to pre-filter the result rows. This will be helpful when the user needs to select a specific related entity (e.g. contact, ...) before starting to generate the document.

This feature is available with version 5.26 upwards and only for DOCX-templates.
