The [Insert as Picture-Field]-button

INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to use the “Insert as Picture-Field”-functionality within the “Insert”-button in Open Office XML templates (.docx).
Click here to read more about the functionalities of the “Insert”-button.

This certain feature allows you to:

a) insert a picture that is stored in your CRM system or
b) a path to a FileShare.

Addon: DocumentsCorePack v5.97 and higher

Example

HOW TO: Prepare your CRM

To use the Insert as Picture-Field-functionality, we first have to prepare our CRM-entry and insert the picture.

There are two ways to do so.

 a) Store a picture in your CRM-system

Open the entity for which you want to add the picture for and upload the picture.

In our example, we insert the picture as a note.

b) Store a path to a fileshare in your CRM-system

To do so, simply type in the path to the fileshare you want to store (in any prefered CRM-field).

In our example we have stored the path to the fileshare in the Description-field.

HOW TO: Insert as picture-field (picture stored as note)

If you have stored a picture as a note to your CRM previously, you have to resolve an additional relationship to the Note entity.
To do so, please open a Word document, go to the www.mscrm-addons.com-tab, click on Insert MailMerge Fields and answer the question with a
click on the [Yes]-button.

HOW TO: Insert as picture-field (picture saved as path of the fileshare)

If you have previously stored the path of the fileshare, open a template or create a new one.

Click on Insert MailMerge Fields to get to the DocumentsCorePack – Template Designer and select a field to be inserted.

In our case this is Description. Click once on it so that it is highlighted in blue.
