How to add information of the current user to a document

It is quite common, that user information shows up within the document itself. (e.g. a “Best regards, firstname lastname” at the end of a quote).
This Step-By-Step tutorial describes how to add this relation to a template. In this example the Quote_base.docx template, that comes with the installation of DCP for CRM 2011, is used.

Please note: DocumentsCorePack (DCP) Client version 5.27 or higher is mandatory!

MSCRM Addons Installation for CRM 2011 Online

This blog is on how to install DocumentsCorePack (DCP) and TelephoneIntegration (TI) for CRM 2011 Online. When using CRM 2011 Online, it is important that the server part of the addon is installed somewhere on your network. It can be installed locally on a computer or anywhere else on one of the supported operating systems listed below. The following steps explain how to install the serverpart of DocumentsCorePack and TelephoneIntegration on your system. Please note, that both, client and server must be installed!

Feature-Outline: LookupDialog to pre-filter result rows

We have created a function offering the possibility to use a dialog to pre-filter the result rows. This will be helpful when the user needs to select a specific related entity (e.g. contact, ...) before starting to generate the document.

This feature is available with version 5.26 upwards and only for DOCX-templates.

How to protect documents with a macro DocX

Protection for generated documents is a common query from our customers. With DocX and Macros it is very simple to achieve this.

Repair WScript.Shell ActiveX

In some rare cases the WScript.Shell ActiveX component is not correctly registered. This causes, that the DocumentsCorePack Print in Word and TelephoneIntegration Call Number buttons are not working properly. To resolve the issue open a command prompt and enter regsvr32.exe wshom.ocx

That’s it!

WindowsXP and WIF (WindowsIdentityFoundation)

!! Please note: This only applies to CTI Versions 5.30 and below !!
!! Since Microsoft has changed the EULA of their WIF SDK we are now allowed to include all required files into our setups !!

All of our client products (Telephone Integration and DocumentsCorePack Client) need the WindowsIdentityFoundation Framework to be able to connect to CRM 2011.

Unfortunately the WIF Framework is not officially supported on WindowsXP by Microsoft, but there are 2 ways to make this work on a WindowsXP OS.

Office Open XML: Part4 – How to embed pictures

This is the 4th part of our video series regarding the Office Open XML-format that is provided in DocumentsCorePack for CRM 2011. The template used in this video is the one that has been created in our previous tutorials of this series, so it is recommended to take a look into Part 1 – Creating a template and Part 2- Resolve Relationships first to get more information about the template's structure.

How to install DocumensCorePack Client unattended

To install DocumentsCorePack Client for MS CRM 2011/2013/2015/2016 unattended, you need to supply a registry file with the required registry settings.

Office Open XML: Part3 – How to group line items

This is the third part of the series regarding the Office Open XML-format. This video is based on the the results from Part 1 Creating a template, so I recommend to take a look into this demovideo first.

Additional Steps for DCP 2011 Directory Security

With the Directory Security Feature of DocumentsCorePack for MS CRM 2011, you can prevent users to see certain files from CRM records. Users will not be able to navigate to the associated directory within the file share or SharePoint because DocumentsCorePack will overtake the security for you. In short words: when a user is not able to see the CRM record, he/she will also not be able to see the documents.

For a detailed description, please have a look at the documentation.

However, you have to do additional steps for the Directory Security.
