How to check the installation status on Microsoft AppSource

This blog article outlines how to check the installation status on Microsoft AppSource. For example, if you started the installation of GroupCalendar form Microsoft AppSource. At a later time, you want to check if the installation is completed or if there were any problems. This article explains how this can be done.

First, go to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Within Dynamics 365 hit on ❶ "Navigate to other applications" and hit ❷ "Admin".

Next, please navigate within Microsoft 365 admin center to the section "Admin centers" as you can see below.

In the so opened management console select the correct ❶ organization and hit on ❷"Solutions".

Next, please select the product for which you want to get more information - in this case, GroupCalendar.

How to complete the ActivityTools' update from AppSource

This article outlines how the update process for the new ActivityTools AppSource version (2016.2) must be finished.

!! This post is only relevant for you, if the below error message appears above your ActivityTools version.

This will only happen if you have updated from the first AppSource version to the current one (2016.2).

HOW TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE:

Download the new version via this link:

http://62.99.232.162/AT/appsource/2016.2/ActivityToolsPluginCore.zip

After the download, you will see the ActivityToolsPluginCore solution in your downloads-folder:

Back in CRM, click on the [Import]-button in order to update the solution. As soon as you have selected the download solution .zip file, the following window will pop up:

Click on the [Next]-button in order to proceed. In the now following dialog, please make sure that Stage for upgrade is NOT checked. Instead, check the Overwrite customizations-option and click on the [Import]-button.

After the import has been finished, go to CRM > Settings > ActivityTools. The Config page, will provide you with the new version number: version 2016.2.1.

Now, ActivityTools will work again.

1) Open the Getting Started Area
In your Dynamics 365 environment, navigate to the Getting Started Area

Next, enter your email address into the provided form or login to the Getting Started Area with an
existing MSCRM-ADDONS user account.
The Email address will be used to provide you with technical information only.
Click on the [Continue]-button in order to proceed.

3) Now please configure your AttachmentExtractor trial version

> Setup a CRM connection profile & click on the [Retrieve Organization]-button.
> Create a new AttachmentExtractor Service

Now please configure your DocumentsCorePack service

How to uninstall our solutions from CRM

No matter, if you install our solutions manually in Microsoft Dynamics CRM or if you install our solutions via AppSource, please follow the steps below to uninstall our products.

Please note: When you uninstall the solutions, all related data will be deleted. (e.g. DocumentsCorePack templates). For all on-premise versions of our products, the product itself must be uninstalled from the server before you can continue to deinstall the addon with the below steps. For further information, have a look at the documentation on our homepage.

Step-by-step instruction on how to uninstall our solutions

1) Open the CRM solutions.
(CRM > Settings > Solutions)

2) Look for the product you would like to uninstall (here: PowerSearch). Now all solutions connected to the addon you would like to delete are displayed.
Please note: This works for every product except for DocumentsCorePack, because the DCP solutions have different names.
You could as well look for the publisher (here: mscrm-addons). In this case, your search would bring up all solutions related to mscrm-addons.

3) The solutions must be deleted in a certain order, which depends on the product you want to delete. Please find a list with all our products and the corresponding solution order below.

If you have installed DCP via installer previously, please note:
Before you uninstall DocumentsCorePack, make sure that your current version is lower or higher than version 2015. 133 - 150. If not, please UPGRADE YOUR VERSION before you uninstall the solutions. Learn more about how to find your version number here.

How to install GroupCalendar for MS CRM Online

This blog article outlines how to install GroupCalendar for MS CRM Online.

Requirements: GroupCalendar for MS CRM Online

If you have purchased GroupCalendar, please follow the instructions below. Please note: after everything is set up and running DO NOT disable the user!

How to install GroupCalendar via AppSource

1) To open AppSource, navigate to https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/.

2) Please look for GroupCalendar in the Search field and click on the [Try]-button in the Group Calendar result box.

3) Agree to the Group Calendars terms and conditions and click on the [Continue]-button.

4) You will be asked to sign in to Microsoft AppSource.

5) Once logged in, please add the application by agreeing to the terms and conditions and clicking on the
[I Agree]-button if you want to proceed.

You are redirected to the CRM Online Administration panel. Here, you get an overview of all your installations.

Please note: Because the CRM Online Administration panel does not refresh itself automatically, you have to refresh the window from time to time.

However, as soon as GroupCalendar installed, its status will be changed to Installed (see figure 7).

Now open CRM Online and click on Workplace > MyWork > GroupCalendar. The so opened window provides you with the information required to activate GroupCalendar.

Please follow the steps displayed in Figure 10 (Open the CRM Settings > MSCRM-ADDONS > GroupCalendar).
You are then provided with the GroupCalendar Getting Started surface. Please scroll down to the GroupCalendar Trial Request
section and enter your credentials there.

As soon as you have finished, click on the [Register]-button and you will receive your 30-days trial version.

Additionally, you could also change the CRM access role in the office 365 portal. (this is optional).
To do so, simply click on roles and change the settings.

If you have decided to change the roles, you must also change the user settings as shown in figure 11.

Please note: Make sure that the user possesses the following roles:
- mscrm-addons general security role
- MSCRMAddonsAzureService
- MSCRM-ADDONS.com GCAutoUpdate

Please open the GroupCalendar Service User (Settings > Administration > Users) and set the MSCRMAddons service user to non-interactive access mode (to do so, please follow this blog article).
If the user is still counted by CRM dynamics licensing after being set to non-interactive, simply remove the CRM license from this user in the Office 365 Portal.

Now once again, open GroupCalendar in CRM (Workplace > My Work) and verify that everything works fine.
