How to check the existenz or the value of a SettingsKey in MS Dynamics 365

Sometimes you may be asked to check the existenz or the value of a new settingskey for one of our products (e.g. for troubleshooting of issue or when having special configuratinos, etc.).

How to find a SettingsKey in MS CRM Dynamics 365

1. Open CRM in your Browser.

2. Navigate to Settings within the Dynamics365 navigation.

3. Within the settings, navigate to MSCRM-ADDONS.com Products in the Extensions-area of the sitemap.

4. Open the product record for which you should check its existenz or its value. This information should be provided as information along with the reference to this article.

5. The product record contains a list of all settings for this prodcut (see Figure 5). Here you can check

Please note: If a value for a key is changed and the effected product is a client application like DocumentsCorePack or TelephoneIntegration, you need to restart the Client application. Otherwise, the setting will not be applied.

Dialing Rules

When configuring DIALING RULES we need to know exactly how the number must be concatenated for dialing

- internal company calls ( the call is not routed outside your local loop)
- local calls within your area code
- for long distance calls within your country but outside your area code
- for international calls outside your country

To properly set those, we need to know the following codes like

"exit code", "country code", "area code", "trunk code", "access code".

First of all, we need to define what is our
* country code -> Country calling codes are used to dial phone numbers internationally. Each country has an assigned code of its own. In order to dial an international phone call you must always use a country code before the actual subscriber telephone number.
* exit code -> Exit codes, also known as international access codes or international direct dialing (IDD) codes automatically redirect telephone calls to a foreign country. It is the first code you dial when calling abroad. You may replace it with the plus sign (+).

This setting depends on the country you are in.
For example if you are located in United States, your Country Code is 1 and the Exit Code is 011.
If you are located in Germany, then your Country Code is 49 and the Exit Code is 00.
If you are located in Australia, then your Country Code is 61 and the Exit Code is 0011.

Exit Code is a sequence of digits you need to dial for international calls. If a person in Australia wants to call into Germany, then they must dial their own Exit Code 0011 and the Country Code of Germany 49.

For non-international calls, we need to define what is the
* TrunkCode
and what the
* local AreaCode.

National TrunkCode is used to place calls within a certain country. It is the sequence of digits that must be dialed before the Area Code. It is left out when dialing in from abroad.
If you are located in United States, then your Trunk Code is 1.
If you are located in Germany, then your Trunk Code is 0.
If you are located in Australia, then your Trunk Code is 0.

*Access Code is code dialing for accessing phone lines outside your companies phone network. Regardless if you want to make an international call or noninternational call. If the call is internal between the local companies extensions, then the Access Code needs not to be dialed, since there is no need for accessing outside phone netwoork.

The sintax for internation calls is
[Access Code] + [Exit Code] + [Country Code] + [Area Code] + local subscription number

The sintax for long distance calls is
[Access Code] + [Trunk Code] + [non-local Area Code] + local subscription number

The sintax for local calls is
[Access Code] + [Trunk Code] + [local Area Code] + local subscription number
or if the local area code is not required
[Access Code] + local subscription number

The sintax for internal calls between the local company extensions is to dial only the internal extension (usually not longer than 4 digits).

To set those settings you need to define the Dialing Rules in Phone and Modem settings.
If you have troubles succesfully dialing the numbers over our CTI, you need to pass us the syntax form for

international calls
[Access Code] + [Exit Code] + [Country Code] + [Area Code] + local subscription number
for long distance calls
[Access Code] + [Trunk Code] + [non-local Area Code] + local subscription number
for local calls
[Access Code] + [Trunk Code] + [local Area Code] + local subscription number

To verify the settings go into TIClient / Setup / Phone tab.

After you press the Apply button, those settings will be stored in the Windows LOCAL_MACHINE registry
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Telephony\Locations\Location

Note: Because the registry branch Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Telephony\Locations\Location has restricted permissions for modifying values, you might need to apply those settings via the official Windows Phone and Modem (telephon.cpl) tool.
Otherwise the changes you made in the TIClient / Setup / Phone / Dialing Rules, will not be saved.

DocumentsCorePack Print Application Configuration for Dynamics 365

This blog article outlines how to configure the DocumentsCorePack Print Application for Microsoft Dynamics 365. More information about how to install the DCP Print Application can be found here.

Please notice: The DCP Print Application is intended for small local printer installation. It does not work on servers with multiple printers. In this case, it is recommended to use DCP ServerBased where the services are better managed. For further information, please contact our support team.

DCPPrintService Configuration
After finishing the installation, the DCPPrintService Configuration window opens. This window provides you with different tabs to configure your DCP Print Application as you can see in the figure below highlighted in yellow.

1. The General-tab
The General-tab provides you with the opportunity to set the general settings of your future service (see figure above). You have the possibility to activate debugging, set a batch delay (90 seconds is set per default, which is the delay between the service checking for new print jobs).

You can also add & remove printers, that your application will use.

2. The Printer-tab
The Printer-tab provides you with the possibility to create a ❶ new configuration, edit an existing one, copy a configuration and change the settings and also to ❷ delete configurations.

In order to create a new configuration, click on the [New]-button in the Printer-tab, highlighted in yellow.

This action will open the following dialog. Here you have to:

❶ Specify a configuration name to be able to create a printer configuration. The configuration name (highlighted in yellow below) consists of printer@username (the user which has access to the local printer) + computer name (the computer on which the service is running)

❷ Select the printer from the drop-down menu. You can only use the printer created with your user and your machine.

❸ Hit the [Save & Close]-button.

After saving, you will see the saved printer configuration in the Printer-tab.

The saved printer configuration is also automatically added in the General-tab in the Filter-area (see in the figure below). To remove a printer, please select it and click on Delete on your keyboard.

3. The License-tab
The License-tab enables you to quickly check your license state. If the license is invalid, the service will not start. For more information on the license manager, please have a brief look at our Licensing Guide.

4. The Log-tab
The log prvides an excerpt of the DCPPrintService event log, filtered for this specific service. This helps you to identify any issues with the service.

That´s it!

Hit the [Save & Close]-button in order to finish the DCPPrintService configuration. You will now find the DCPPrintService in your system tray. Right-clicking on the icon brings up a context menu, allowing you to connect to a different organization, open the config, restart the service or quit it.

The installer also adds an autorun entry to your local user account, starting the DCP Print service with your windows.

If you now hit the [Create Document]-button, the DocumentsCorePack Dialog provides you with the new “Print document”-option, where you are able to select the printer you have configured before (highlighted in yellow).

Please notice: You can configure as many local printers as you like.

Troubleshooting for Load Balancing - On-Premise

This blog article outlines how to proceed if you have an issue with your Load Balancing service for DocumentsCorePack On-Premise.

1) Take screenshots of the first three tabs of the configuration of ALL your services that are affected by the Load Balancing issue(highlighted in yellow in the figure below):
- General-tab
- Dynamics 365 Connection Setup-tab
- License-tab

2) Export the AutoMergeWorkingItem entity with all fields as CSV file

3) Export EventLog: Applications and Services Logs - www.mscrm-addons.com folder

DocumentsCorePack Server Based Load Balancing Services

If there are many documents to be processed by a DocumentsCorePack service, it may occur that one service is not enough. This issue can be solved by installing a DocumentsCorePack (DCP) ServerBased Load Balancing Service. This article outlines the functionality of such a DCP Load Balancing Service and how to install it.

Requirements: DocumentsCorePack Server Based (Online/OnPremise) version 2016.173 and higher

The functionality of the Load Balancing Service
Usually, if documents are generated by a service, all documents are assigned to the same service. No matter, if the documents are being processed as batches or single documents. The DCP SB Service processes one job after the other in the queue - comparable to a printing service. Because single documents are prioritized, the generation will always be processed between the batch document generation. This is why it can be really helpful to have multiple services to get a better performance.

The logic of the LoadBalancer works as described in the following figure. The main priority always has the manually triggered document generation for single and batch documents. The LoadBalancer will always have one service reserved for single document generation - DCP Service 1, one for batch document generation and processes/workflows - DCP Service 2 and another one only for batch document generation - DCP Service 3. This means that only one queue is available for processes/workflows in your configuration because they run in the background and have a lower priority.

This is the minimum package of the DCP SB Load Balancing Service. It is possible to add more services to your LoadBalancer, where you can define more than one service for single document generation and batch document generation.

How to configure a Load Balancing Service online?
First of all, please create a new service in DCP SB Online (If you have not set up a service yet, please have a look at this video or at the corresponding blog article). Once you have created a new service, you will be provided with the Online Configuratin window where you can configure your service in detail. If you have already configured a service, you get an overview of your hosted service(s).

The Load Balancing licenses can be found on our website. You first have to choose which size of DCP you require and in the so opened window you can buy the DCP Load Balancing Service. The minimum package contains three services. It is possible to add more services to your LoadBalance. This guarantees that the documents are generated as fast as possible.

The configuration for Load Balancing Service is very easy. Select the service you want to configure in the Online Configuration window and click on the [configure load balancing]-button (highlighted in yellow).

The so opened Load Balancer Configuration window provides you with information about how many ❶ Available Load Balancer Services you have. Here you can specify how many load balancer you want to configure ❷ (please notice: there must be at least three) and how many services you want to ❸ reserve for single documents only.

For example: There are 5 Load Balancing licenses available and want to configure all 5 and reserve 2 of them only for single documents and the rest are for batch document generation (see figure below).

How to create a Load Balancing Service in DocumentsCorePack Server Based On-Premise
(If you have not installed a service yet, please have a look at this article)

The creation of a Load Balancing Service in DCP Server Based On-Premise is different than in DCP SB Online. Therfore you need to set up a DCP SB service and categorize it as Load Balancing service. We recommend naming the service according to its future task (here: DCPLoadBalancer). Next, you create some more services and categorize them as subordinated to the Load Balancing Service.

Set a category for your Load Balancing Service
Basically you have to differentiate between the category for the main service and the category of the sub-services.

The category number for the main service consists of six digits and follows the below structure:

99XXYY

99..... categorizes the service as Load Balancing Service
XX..... defines how many services are subordinated to the Load Balancing Service
YY..... defines how many of these subordinated services are reserved for the generation of single documents only. It is mandatory to have at least 2 worker services for batch operations. That means the minimum configuration is 990301. If it is needed to have multiple single document services, it is mandatory to have at least 4 worker services and the configuration is 990402.

For example:
990502... There are 5 services subordinated to the Load Balancing Service and the first two services process single documents only. The other three services are reserved for the generation of batch documents.

991105... There are 11 services subordinated to the Load Balancing Service and the first five services process single documents only. The other six services are reserved for the generation of batch documents.

The categories must be set in the category field of the DCP Server Server Based On-Premise Service (highlighted in yellow below). However, it is recommended to set the batch delay to 10 seconds.

The Load Balancing Service can have many subordinated sub-services. The category number for the sub-service starts with 10 as you can see in the figure below. For each additional sub-service, the category number increases by 1 and continues with 11, 12, ..... As explained before, the category must be set in the category field, highlighted below.

How to remove the Load Balancing service (On-Premise)

Make sure there is only one DCP Service running for the organization with the Category: 0
Restore the default value for the “AzureServiceName” settingskey
The name of the key must be "AzureServiceName" and the value has to be “none”
Delete the “LBConfig” Settingskey
Shut down and restart the DCP service
Clear your browser cache and restart your browser

How to configure an Onpremise Service with CRM Online

This article outlines how to create a SettingsKey manually.
It is specifically designed to use Dynamics 365 online and to run the Service for DCP-Serverbased onpremise.
To configure a service properly for such a scenario you have to create an additional settings key.

Please open your Dynamics 365 in your Browser.

Navigate to Settings -> MSCRM-ADDONS -> Products.
Open the Link to DocumentsCorePack and AutoMerge and display all records associated with this view (Button on the right side, next to the "+")

Please also deactivate the LBConfig Setting, if you are not using LoadBalancing.

After clicking the button, you can see a list of all settingskeys.
By clicking the [ADD NEW MSCRM-ADDONS.com Settingkeys]-button you can create a new settingskey.

How to open the fields.xml settings in Dynamics 365?

This article outlines how to open the fields.xml Settings.

The fields.xml Settings are server-side Dynamics 365-Settings.
There are 2 ways to open the Settings.

This tab focuses on the advanced functionalities of the TelephoneIntegration Configuration.
Use it to view, copy and send the fields XML for support purposes.

Navigate to Settings > MSCRM-ADDONS > TelephoneIntegration in Dynamics 365.

When GetStarted-page of TelephoneIntegration opens, please switch to the Advanced-Tab.

To view the Field.xml-settings, select the [Show]-button

The Fields.xml-window opens and displays the Settings-Code, highlighted in yellow in the figure below.
Now you can copy this text for example to send it to our Support-Team.

Please note: Do not change the value manually.
Instead, use the TelephoneIntegration Server Configuration Tool in order to change the value.

To close the window, please click the [Cancel]-button.

If you have not received the desired result, please try the other way:

Navigate to Settings > MSCRM-ADDONS > Products > TelephoneIntegration in Dynamics 365.

Then open the SettingKeys.

There, you will find the fields.xml value.

Please note: Do not change the value manually.
Instead, use the TelephoneIntegration Server Configuration Tool in order to change the value.

SharePoint path limitation avoidance for AttachmentExtractor

SharePoint paths limitations are hard coded. The maximum path length is 260 characters. If that limit is exceeded, you get the SharePoint error 414. This article outlines how to avoid this error.

Minimum requirements: AttachmentExtractor v.124 or higher

mscrm-addons products offer several default ways to shorten SharePoint paths:

1) We provide you with a default shortening to a maximum of 30 characters + GUID for each folder name.
2) We provide you with a default shortening to a maximum of 128 characters for each file name.
3) ShortIDs: We create a 6-characters ID alternatively to the well-known 36 GUIDs of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
4) Use an alternative field for the generation of paths (e.g. instead of account name we can use a unique account number field).

Please note: Even though the creation of short paths is a very valuable feature, existing paths cannot be shortened anymore, unless very specific criteria are met. Manual interaction is always required.

How to activate a ShortID for AttachmentExtractor

1) First, you must activate ShortID for AttachmentExtractor. To do so, please follow the below path in order to get to the ShortID settings.

Please note: You must replace [YourServiceName] with your individual service name:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PTM EDV-Systeme\AttachmentExtractorserver\Configurations\[YourServiceName]

2) Next, set UseShortID to true.

3) To define the cutting, you will have to create a new settingskey. If you have not created a settingskey yet, please have a look at this article.

Depending on which item you would like to customize, please enter the following settings:

For the maximum SharePoint folder name length:
SPMaxFolderLength: [number of characters that should remain]

For the maximum SharePoint file name length:
SPMaxFileLength: [number of characters that should remain]

For the minimum SharePoint file name length:

SPMinFileLength: [minimum number of characters that should remain]

Please note: The file extension is never cut!

For the SharePoint folder name attribute:

SPFolderNameAttribute: enittyschemaname;attributename|

It is recommended to activate ShortId to avoid the SharePoint error 414 you get because of the path limitations of 260 characters. With ShortId we create a 6-characters ID instead of the 36 GUID like you can see in the example below.

To create a ShortID for DocumenstCorePack simply navigate to Settings > DocumentsCorePack in your Microsoft Dynamics 365 application.

Here, please add/enable the following options:

How to group tables in DocumentsCorePack .docx templates

This blog article outlines how to group tables in DocumentsCorePack (.docx) templates. The DocumentsCorePack Grouping functionality gives users the possibility to define an optical sorting and thus, a separation for specific fields.

Please note: If the grouping headers are displayed repeatedly or if they are mixed up, please check the sorting that is set in the RelationshipDesigner. Please make sure that the grouping field is also the selected sorting field.

How to group tables for DocumentsCorePack templates properly:

1) First of all, open Microsoft Word and navigate to www.mscrm-addons.com. Then click on the [Insert MailMerge Fields]-button in order to create your table with DocumentsCorePack, like you can see it below.

2) Next, open the Additional-tab to create your table by inserting the appropriate MailMerge fields. The Additional-tab is necessary and has been designed to manage additional relationships. How to create a SettingsKey manually in MS Dynamics 365

To do so, please follow the six easy steps below.

1. Open your Dynamics 365 in your Browser.

2. Go to Settings within the Dynamics 365 navigation.

Advanced Settings "CreateActivitiesFor" in MS Dynamics 365

This feature extends the existing CreateActivitiesFor-property of DocumentsCorePack. This blog article covers the configuration, an example and the technical details of this feature.

The configuration options allow template editors to define

Recipient
Regarding
Save Location

of activities based on a template independently. For further information on DocumentsCorePack Template Designer, please have a look at the documentation.

Configuration

The configuration requires a proper configuration of the DocumentsCorePack Server and you need to understand the fundamental MS Dynamics 365 (CRM) capabilities.

To access the Advanced Settings, open an existing template or generate a new one. Then navigate to www.mscrm-addons.com ❶, click on the [Insert MailMerge Fields]-button ❷, open the Advanced Template Settings ❸ and click on CreateActivitiesFor ❹.

Please note: Per default, only the "Recipient"-tab is displayed. You have to check the "Enable Advanced Settings"-checkbox (highlighted in red), if you want all three tabs to be shown.

After enabling the Advanced Settings-checkbox, you can select the the Recipient, Regarding and the Save Location for your template ❶. The options, which can be selected for each area, are displayed in a tree view. You can insert the required relation by clicking on the nodes "Primary Contact (Contact)" and by double clicking on the correct option "Contact" in this case ❷ .

The configuration is set for an Account Template and has the following effects:

The Recipient of the generated activity will be the primary contact of the parent account of the Account Template.
The Regarding will be set to the Account directly.
And the generated document will be saved to the configured location for the parent account of the Account Template.

The example below shows the outcome of the configuration for this Account Template in more in detail.

Example

The account mscrm-addons.com Corp ❶ with the parent account ptm EDV-Systeme ❷ has a primary contact named Michael Dohr ❸.

After saving this template, you can continue to create a document, either directly from Word by using the [Select Data]-button or by using the [Print in Word]-button within CRM. Once done so, you get a merged document.

In case of further document processing, you can use the [CreateCRMActivity]-button and e.g. generate a letter activity ❶ and add the document to your SharePoint ❷.
This process saves our generated document in the folder of the account (ptm EDV-Systeme) and defines the regarding to the account(mscrm-addons.com Corp).
The recipient is the primary contact of the parent account of the account (Michael Dohr).

Technical details

The third option (Save Location) also works for DocumentsCorePack ServerBased.

The option to define the Regarding and the Recipient are not available in DocumentsCorePack ServerBased as they can be set directly within the workflow.

The options effect the Create Activity-, the Save as...- as well as the Send as PDF-functionality of the DocumentsCorePack Client.

The outcome when selecting the Create Activity-functionality is described in the above example.

The outcome when selecting the Send as PDF-functionality is the same.

When you select the Save as...-functionality, the recipient and the regarding-property are ignored. It only saves the generated document to the proper location that is configured with the DocumentsCorePack Server Configuration.

how to view the license state of your service and
how to upgrade your license online.

A) How to view the license state of your AttachmentExtractor Online Service?

1) Go to our website www.mscrm-addons.com and enter your credentials.

AttachmentExtractor Online Service Configuration

We have all been there. Working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM) is really great, but sometimes, the data storage costs go through the roof. And yes, saving data in Microsoft Dynamics 365 can be cost-intensive. Consequently, we solved this problem by creating AttachmentExtractor.

This blog article outlines how easy it is to setup the AttachmentExtractor Online Service Configuration. Additionally please also find our video tutorial for AttachmentExtractor that shows how to start the AE Online Configuration, here.

The main advantages of the AttachmentExtractor Online Service are:
- There is no need for a local server anymore.
- All AttachmentExtractor features are available
- The configuration is easy
- The service is hosted and updated by our support team

Please follow the below step-by-step tutorial in order to start an AttachmentExtractor Online Service properly.

Step 1: Open the Online Configuration Service

One possible way to start a new AttachmentExtractor Online Service Configuration is via our website www.mscrm-addons.com. On our website, please navigate to Products, select AttachmentExtractor and then, click on the Configure Service button.

Next, login or register to mscrm-addons.com.

The registration is quick and free. Once logged in, you will

- have access to all our free 14-days trial versions
- be able to request full support on all trial versions
- be allowed to purchase licenses
- receive our newsletter
- be able to upgrade free trial versions to licensed products

So – if you haven’t registered yet – it’s worth a try!

Step 2: The Online Configuration window

Once you have logged in, you will be provided with the Online Configuration window.

Please note: If you have already configured a service, you get an overview of your hosted service(s) ❶.

If there is no service configured, you can setup a service with a click on the [Add]-button ❷.

As soon as your organization appears in the Available Organizations section ❶, click on the [Verify Connection & Save Profile]-button ❷.

Now the following window appears. It is important that you do not close this window or navigate away.

You are now back on the same window as before. This window supports you creating a new service.

❶ Service Name
Please enter your service name here. But choose wise, because the name cannot be changed anymore!

AttachmentExtractor Instance
Please select on which instance the AttachmentExtractor Service should run. The instance with the highest bandwidth is automatically selected for you.

❷ SharePoint Integration
Please choose, if you would like to use the CRM integrated SharePoint or a specific SharePoint. If you want to use a specific SharePoint, you must enter a SharePoint path, which means you must enter a SharePoint URL that includes the library.

Storage Option for Entities without Document Management enabled
Entities without document management may be stored daily or weekly on a specific SP library. Else, you may decide which entities not to extract.

SharePoint Credentials
Please insert the credentials of a SharePoint user with administrative access to your configured SharePoint here.

❸ Extract
Using the drop-down menu of this option, allows you to decide what you would like to extract with AttachmentExtractor. Please select all options or only some of these options. The available options are:
           - Email Attachments
            - Note Attachments
            - Email Body
            - Note Body

Please note: This section also allows you to configure an email or note subfolder, where your extracted emails or notes will be saved.

❹ Data processing
Please specify if you only want to copy your attachments to SharePoint or if you want to extract them completely. Once extracted files will be replaced with a .url file which points to the extracted file on SharePoint. However, if you click on the [Extract – Replace data in CRM]-button, you will receive a warning. Please read it carefully, check the corresponding checkbox and select whether you want to copy or extract the files by clicking on the corresponding button.

❺ Minimum Attachment Size Filter
Please insert the minimum size a file should have in order to be extracted by your AttachmentExtractor Service here.

❻ Only extract attachments older than
If you only want to extract attachments older than a certain amount of time, you can specify this here.

❼ Show Advanced Options
A click on this button expands some options for the advanced configuration.

Please note: If you feel that the configuration so far satisfies your needs, you can save your service now with a click on the [Save Service]-button in the right lower corner and proceed with Step 6. But of course, the service can as well be configured on an advanced level, which can be done in the Advanced Configuration-section. This optional part of the configuration will be explained below.

Step 4: Set the Advanced Options (optional)

With a click on the [Show Advanced Options]-button, the settings of your new service can be refined.

❶ Enable debugging
In case of any issues during the extraction, we would recommend you to enable debugging by selecting this option. The log files will be available for download as soon as the service is saved.

❷ Stop service on critical errors
If you select this option, the service will automatically stop if a critical error occurs. This option is activated by default.

❸ Create SharePoint attributes
Enabling this option will create SharePoint attributes for transferred files.

❹ New folder per
Please select if new folders should be created on a weekly or a daily basis here. This option only applies to CRM Integrated SharePoint.

❺ Blacklist or Whitelist
Please decide whether you would like to use a black- or a whitelist here. Entities on the blacklist will NOT be extracted, while entities on the whitelist will be extracted.

❻ Notify on service changes
Select this option in order to get an eMail every time there is a service change.

❼ Skip solution import
If you select this option, the setup will assume that you have already imported all solutions that are necessary for the creation of an AttachmentExtractor service. If any solution is missing, the creation of the new service will fail.

❽ Skip role assignment
If you select this option, you will either have to create a custom role covering the required rights or you will have to manually assign the security roles.

❾ Server Version
This field informs you about the current AttachmentExtractor version on your instance.

Step 5: Save your service
No matter how detailed you have configured your service, please click on the [Save Service]-button in the right lower corner in order to proceed.

Click on the [OK]-button in the window that appears now.

Please note: Do not close the following window or navigate away as long as the serivce is saved. Instead, have a break and enjoy some coffee or tea.

Step 6: Service Configuration Completed

As soon as the service configuration is completed, you will be informed about the next steps you can take. Click on the License Status-option in order to check your license status. Please read the instructions carefully and click on the [OK]-button in order to proceed.

Step 7: Start your service

Congratulation! You have finished the configuration of your service. You are now redirected to the service configuration overview. Using the buttons at the end of the service overview, you can define which steps you would like to take next. Please find a brief description of the buttons below.

❶ The [Add service]-button
Simply click on the [Add]-button (+) in order to create a new AttachmentExtractor Service.

Please click on the [Configure Service]-button (monkey wrench) in order to modify the DocumentsCorePack Service settings. A double click on the service you would like to modify has the same effect.

❷ The [View & Install License]-button
Click this button in order to check your license state or to install a new license.

❸ The [View Service Logs]-button
A click on this button will provide you with an overview of the latest event log entries for your service. Double-click a certain row in order to see details.

❹ The [View Version Info]-button
Click this button in order to receive information on your CRM version and the AttachmentExtractor version.

❺ The [Play Service]-button
Click on this button in order to start your service.

❻ The [Stop Service]-button
Click on this button in order to stop your service.

❼ The [View Progress & history]-button
A click on this button will provide you with an overview of the extraction progress and failed extractions.

❽ The [Reset extraction]-button
Click on this button in order to reset all previous extractions.

❾The [Move Service]-button and
A click on this button enables yout to move the service to another instance.

❿The [Delete Service]-button
With a click on the Garbage bin, you have the possibility to delete a services.

Please note, that this step will delete the service configuration and the AttachmentExtractor Service, but it will NOT delete the CRM solutions referring to AttachmentExtractor. These solutions must be deleted manually.

How do I configure navigation buttons to system views with SmartBar?

With version 2016.112 we introduce some major features for SmartBar, which allow an easier handling of multiple views and a smoother handling of count/color based buttons. For further information on how to add a range to color-coded buttons, have a look at this article.

Add Multiple Views button

With version 2016.112 or higher, it is possible to move the same entity button more than once to the 'current on site'-section in the SmartBar settings. This allows you to rename the button and to add a specific view to it. This makes it possible for you to, e.g. create an "Activities - ALL"-button next to an "Activites - Closed"-button.

To add a specific view to your button, you can simply edit an Entity Button (with a click on the [Gear icon]-button) and select a view from the Specific View-field, as highlighted on the below screenshot. This feature is available on both - metro and standard styling.

This example will result in a button that only counts and shows your Closed Activities.

A) How to view the license state of your DCP Online Service?

ActivityTools, DocumentsCorePack ServerBased (DCP SB), PowerSearch and SmartBar

For these four solutions, there is a simple way to find the current version number: Open your Microsoft Dynamics 365 and navigate to Settings. When you go to Products, you´ll see these four solutions. Select the one you want and you will be provided with the Getting Started window, which contains the version number (see figure 1 - highlighted in yellow). The below example shows the ActivityTools version number, but this way also applies to DocumentsCorePack ServerBased, PowerSearch and SmartBar.

AttachmentExtractor

If you use the Online version, you don´t need to provide the version number because our support is well aware of it.

For the OnPremise version just follow the next steps. Please look for AttachmentExtractor Installation in the StartPanel.

Now the following window appears. It shows the AttachmentExtractor version number (highlighted in yellow) for Microsoft Dynamics 365.

DocumentsCorePack Client (DCP Client)

To verify the current DocumentsCorePack Client version number, start MS Word, navigate to the www.mscrm-addon.com-tab and click on the [DocumentsCorePack Settings]-button.

In the settings window select the About-tab, where the version number is displayed (see highlighted in yellow).

GroupCalendar

To verify the current GroupCalendar (GC) version number for Microsoft Dynamics 365, open GroupCalendar and click on Settings on the right side (see highlighted below in yellow). The version number is displayed in the window that opens now in the right upper corner (also highlighted in yellow).

TelephoneIntegration Server

To verify the current TelephoneIntegration Server (TI Server) version number, start Configuration – TelephoneIntegration Server for MS Dyn 365 from the StartPanel.

The following window appears. It shows the TI Server version number (highlighted in yellow) for MS Dyn 365.

TelephoneIntegration Client

To verify the current TelephoneIntegration Client (TI Client) version number, click on the TelephoneIntegration-icon in the taskbar:

How to add the MS Word properties in DocumentsCorePack Client

This blog article outlines how to add the Microsoft Word properties for the DocumentsCorePack Client.

Usually, there is no need to activate additional properties for the DCP Client. However, there are some exceptional cases, when the additional MS Word properties must be activated.

Please note: you must NOT change the MS Word properties without permission in this case. But if you have already got the permission from our support team or one of our developers, please follow the below instructions.

First of all, please open the MS Word properties.
To do so, open the template you would like to add the MS Word field-properties and open the File-tab in the Microsoft Word CommandBar.

Next, click on the Properties-drop down menu ❶ in the Info-tab. Then, select Advanced Properties ❷. And finally, insert the Name ❸ and Value ❹ of the property into the corresponding field and click on the [OK]-button. Please note: The values for the name-, as well as for the value-field, will be provided by our support team.
