This feature gives you the possibility to insert page breaks after every grouping section. For more information about how to group tables in DCP (.docx) templates, please have a look at this article here.

Please notice: This feature is only available for Dynamics 365.

After grouping your table by the field you want to define the grouping for (in this case, <g class="gr_ gr_23 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="23" data-gr-id="23">jobtitle</g>), navigate to www.mscrm-addons.com and choose ❶ Table properties. In the so opened window, you have to select the second check box, that says ❷ "Insert Page break after each grouping header".

Figure 1: Set Table Properties

And the option does what it says, as you can see the result in the figure below. Every job title is automatically displayed on a new page.

The DocumentsCorePack Grouping functionality gives users the possibility to define an optical sorting and thus, a separation for specific fields.

Please note: If the grouping headers are displayed repeatedly or if they are mixed up, please check the sorting that is set in the RelationshipDesigner. Please make sure that the grouping field is also the selected sorting field.

Example:

Figure 1: DocumentsCorePack (.docx) table, grouped by the same job title

How to group tables for DocumentsCorePack templates properly:

1) First of all, open Microsoft Word and navigate to www.mscrm-addons.com. Then click on the [Insert MailMerge Fields]-button in order to create your table with DocumentsCorePack, like you can see it below.

Figure 2: Open www.mscrm-addons.com

2) Next, open the Additional-tab to create your table by inserting the appropriate MailMerge fields. The Additional-tab is necessary and has been designed to manage additional relationships. For more information about how to create relationships using the DCP Template Designer, please have a look at this blog article.

Figure 3: DocumentsCorePack table with Insert MailMerge fields

3) Now select the field which you want to define the grouping for. We want to group our table for the row Job. To do so, simply select the field <<jobtitle>> like below.

Figure 4: Selected field for grouping

4) Navigate to www.mscrm-addons .com at the top, and click on the [Grouping]-button. There are some Grouping options, that are explained below. For our example please select Mark <g class="gr_ gr_77 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="77" data-gr-id="77">Groupingfield</g>.

Figure 5: Select grouping for (.docx) templates

Mark <g class="gr_ gr_78 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="78" data-gr-id="78">Groupingfeld</g>
This option inserts you automatically a header and a footer - in this case, job title, as you can see below.

Figure 6: Insert <g class="gr_ gr_106 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins replaceWithoutSep" id="106" data-gr-id="106">table</g> header and footer

Mark as Sum-Field
This function sums the entire group. For <g class="gr_ gr_110 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-del replaceWithoutSep" id="110" data-gr-id="110">example:</g> You have two product groups - hardware and software. By selecting this option you can build the sum of e.g. the price of all hardware and all software products.

Mark as Count-Field
This function counts, as the name suggests - in this <g class="gr_ gr_92 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep" id="92" data-gr-id="92">case</g> e.g. how many people are per job title.

Add Groupingheader
You can add an additional header with more information.

Remove Groupingheader
Removes you the before <g class="gr_ gr_88 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins replaceWithoutSep" id="88" data-gr-id="88">added</g> header.

Add Groupingfooter
You can also add an additional footer.

Remove Groupingfooter
Removes you the before <g class="gr_ gr_81 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins doubleReplace replaceWithoutSep" id="81" data-gr-id="81">added</g> footer.

Remove Grouping
This option allows you to remove the entire grouping you´ve made.

6) After defining all your grouping options, you can also change the layout of your table. To do so, select your table and navigate to Design and choose the layout you want - in this case, green. Once you have saved your template and merged it with Dynamics 365 data, the table should look similar to the sample in Figure 7.

Figure 7: Sample result for grouped table in .docx templates in DocumentsCorePack

As you can see, all contacts with the same job title have been grouped in the same header and footer.

That’s it! We appreciate your feedback!
