How to add GroupCalendar to the Sitemap

This article outlines how to add your GroupCalendar to the Sitemap.

Per default GroupCalendar tries to add the application to the "Sales" area.
If you do not have this Area, you can add the GroupCalendar manually, here is how to do that:

Navigate to: CRM > Settings > Customizations > Customize the System

Click on it and a new Window opens. Navigate further to Client Extensions > Site Map

Do a double click on it and the sitemap designer opens.

Select a Area (in grey row with arrow) and a Group (Column) where you want to add the GroupCalendar.

Mark the last entry (e.g. Powersearch).

Please note:
If there is no entry marked, you can not go to the next step!!

In the windows left side (corner on top) you can find the [Add]-Button.

Select "Subarea" in the Menue and a new entry next to PowerSearch appears.

Mark "New Subarea" and press the pencil to edit. Now the right side of the window changes.

Please enter the following parameters:

Type = Web Ressource

URL = ptm_WebApplicationPreloaderGroupCalendar

Title = GroupCalendar

Icon = ptm_Icon32x32_White.png

3. Save and publish your new SiteMap

Add Config SiteMap entries manually

This blog article outlines how to manually add SiteMap entries linking to our product config pages.

After installing our products you normally get an entry for our product entity "Products" and an entry for each of our products linking to its configuration page. By default, these entries can be found in Dynamics 365 under Settings as you can see in the figure below.

In the SiteMap Designer please select the SiteMap entry you want to customize - in this case, ❶ Settings. Next, hit the ❷ [Add]-button and select ❸ Group.

Arrange your Subarea by setting the values below:
❶ Type = Entity
❷ Entity = MSCRM-ADDONS.com Products
❸ Title = Products

As explained before, please add another Subarea and set the values below:

DocumentsCorePack:

❶ Type = Web Ressource
❷ URL = AutoMergeConfig (ptm_AutoMerge/AutoMergeConfig.html)
❸ Title = DocumentsCorePack
❹ Icon = ptm_Icon32x32_White.png

Now you can see your first product in the MSCRM-ADDONS area - in this case DocumentsCorePack. This process is the same for all our other products.

Below please find the right values for each product. As Type always please select Web Resource and the Icon value is always the same: Icon = ptm_Icon32x32_White.png

How to embed PowerSearch in CRM SiteMap

PowerSearch can be embedded anywhere into CRM SiteMap. For example, this can be done by using the XrmToolBox. For free download, please click here.

How to embed PowerSearch in the CRM navigation bar

Extract the XrmToolBox .zip file and run XrmToolBox.exe.

In the next window, select the SiteMap Editor from the list.

Click on the [Yes]-button when the following question box appears:

The connection should be displayed in the next window. If there is no connection displayed, please click on the [New connection]-button.

In the so opened Connection dialog, insert the required information to build up a connection to your CRM system, click on the [Get Orgs.]-button in order to retrieve all available organizations and select your preferred organization. Press the [OK]-button to proceed.

As soon as the connection is established, the XrmToolBox appears. Click on the [Load SiteMap]-button.

Please select an area where you want PowerSearch to be displayed in the future and press Add SubArea:

Your tree-view should look like the one below. You can select any SiteMap Area you want. For our example, we decided to add PowerSearch to Group (My Work).

Please set the following properties for Icon and Url at the right side:
· Icon: $webresource:ptm_PowerSearch/img/primeIcon32x32.png
· Url: $webresource:ptm_PowerSearch/MainPage.html

With a right click on the SubArea that you have created earlier, you open a new window. Click on Add Titles.

In the now following window, please enter the appropriate LCID *
(e.g. 1033 for English or 1031 for German) and Title * (e.g. PowerSearch) and
click on the [Save]-button. Upload your SiteMap with a click on the [Upload SiteMap]-button.

Now save your SiteMap configuration, close the window and return to your CRM.

Press F5 in order to refresh the page. Your CRM could (depending on your settings) look like this now:

Click on PowerSearch in order to open PowerSearch. If your CRM does not look properly, please simply restart your browser session. Should the error persist, please send a description/screenshot of the error to support@mscrm-addons.com

How to display new entities in the search field in SmartBar

This blog article outlines how to integrate new entries in the SmartBar entity and SiteMap entry search field.

Requirements: SmartBar for MS CRM 2013

Example:

If you have added entities or sitemap-entries to your CRM organization after the installation of SmartBar for MS CRM 2013, they won't be available in the entity-search box of SmartBar. Please follow the steps below to integrate them.

1) Open the MSCRM-ADDONS.com Products overview in CRM
First, open the SmartBar dialog at the top of any CRM entity window. Then type in Products to get to the MSCRM-ADDONS.com Products-overview.

This action ópens the Active MSCRM-ADDONS.com Products-overview.

Next, select SmartBar with a double-click.

2) Delete the CBEntities-Settingskey
In the next window, search for the CBEntities-Settingskeys and delete it.

3) Restart the SmartBar Config
Now restart the SmartBar Config in the StartPane.

Select your profile to connect to the organization for which the entities have been added. Select the appropriate organization and click on the [OK]-button.

As soon as the connection and user rights have been verified, select the appropriate organization and click on the [Launch Config.]-button.

This action will open the SmartBar Server Config.-window. As soon as this window has been loaded, the process is completed. Now click on the [OK]-button in order to finish.

Outlook 2010 & Ajax, failing axd calls

Outlook 2010 is having some severe problems with Ajax based functions. Being a reported error with Microsoft, there is still no fix available, but a workaround.

The impacted product cannot be started inside Outlook, but needs to be launched as a separate IE window.

You need to copy the ostarter.html into the root folder of the products server-side installation and adapt the sitemap as following:

Example GroupCalendar:

Per default, the sitemap is not having separate entries for WebClient and Outlook-Client, so you need to replace the existing SubArea (ID: nav_GroupCalendar) with these two new entries:
