mscrm-addons – version number guide for CRM 4.0

This article contains a detailed guide on how to find out the version number for each mscrm-addons product in CRM 4.0.

Activity Tools

First open the Activity Tools Installation folder

(C:/Program Files/PTM EDV-Systeme GmbH/ActivityTools for MS CRM 4.0)

and then navigate to the bin-folder. Do a right click on the Editor.dll-file and click on Properties.

Finally select the version-tab and click on File Version.

Alerts:

First open the Alerts Installation folder

(C:/Program Files/PTM EDV-Systeme GmbH/Alerts for MS CRM 4.0)

and then navigate to the bin-folder. Do a right click on the Alerts.dll-file and click on Properties.

Finally select the version-tab and click on File Version.

Dashboard:

First open the Dashboard Installation folder

(C:/Program Files/PTM EDV-Systeme GmbH/Dashboard for MS CRM 4.0)

and then navigate to the bin-folder. Do a right click on the “Dashboard.deploy.dll”-file (the DashBoard.dll file is obsolete) and click on Properties.

Finally select the version-tab and click on File Version.

Documents Core Pack Server:

First open the Documents Core Pack Server Installation folder

(C:/Program Files/PTM EDV-Systeme GmbH/Documents Core Pack Server for MS CRM 4.0)

and then navigate to the bin-folder. Do a right click on the DocumentsCorePackServer.dll-file and click on Properties.

Finally select the version-tab and click on File Version.

Documents Core Pack Client:

In MS Word, first click on the www.mscrm-addons.com-tab and click on the [WordMailMerge Settings]-button.

In the settings window select the About Documents Core Pack–tab and you will be provided with the version number.

Group Calendar:

First open the Group Calendar Installation folder

(C:/Program Files/PTM EDV-Systeme GmbH/Group Calendar for MS CRM 4.0)

and then navigate to the bin-folder. Do a right click on the GroupCalendar.dll-file and click on Properties.

Finally, select the version-tab and click on file version.

Power Search:

First open the Power Search Installation folder

(C:/Program Files/PTM EDV-Systeme GmbH/Power Search for MS CRM 4.0)

and then navigate to the bin-folder. Do a right click on the PowerSearch.dll-file and click on Properties.

Finally select the version-tab and click on file version.

Telephone Integration Server:

First open the Telephone Integration Server installation folder

(C:/Program Files/PTM EDV-Systeme GmbH/Telephone Integration Server for MS CRM 4.0)

and then navigate to the bin-folder. Do a right click on the OutBoundCallConfig.exe-file and click on Properties.

Finally, select the version-tab and click on file version.

Telephone Integration Client:

Right click on the TelephoneIntegration icon in the taskbar and then click on Info.

A License window will pop up and in the lower left corner you can see the version number.

Security Update for 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB2251419)

Error Message:

(if you try to merge a document)

You are trying to read or write to protected memory, this is a sign that the memory is corrupt.

Problem:

The reference is not set correctly.

This is caused by the Security Update for 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB2251419).

Solution:

You have to delete this security update and the merge will work without any problems.

(Tested on XP with Office 2007)

How to change the layout of dashboards

In the dashboard, you can change your layout and create or save your own views.

In the layout menu there are 3 views:

Single View,

Vertical View and

Horizontal View.

In the course of this blog article we describe how to use and configure the different views.

1. How to select a layout

Click on Layout in the menu in order to select a layout for your dashboard.

With a click on the [Save View]-button your custom layout for this dashboard will be saved.

1.1 The Single View-Layout

The Single View is the default view. All charts will be displayed in the same size and every chart can be moved to the right or left.

Move Charts: In the single view the charts can be moved to the left or the right.

To do so, click first on the [Action]-button and then on Move Chart.

Please note: In the vertical or horizontal view, charts can only be moved in the secondary area.

1.2 The Vertical View-Layout

When you select the vertical or horizontal view, you will generally work with two areas:

The primary area and the secondary area.

For the primary area you have to define a main chart because only this chart will be displayed in the main area.

To do so, select a chart, click on the [Action]-button and then Set to main Chart.

The main chart will be vertically located on your screen in the primary area.

All the other charts will be shown in the secondary area and can also be moved to the right or the left.

1.3 The Horizontal View-Layout

The main chart will be horizontally located on your screen in the primary area.

All the other charts will be shown in the secondary area and also can be moved to the right or to the left.

2. Layout visibility:

If you are the owner of a dashboard and you define and save a custom layout, other users get your saved layout too.

At least, as long as they save their own personal layout view.

AttachDocumentToEachCreatedActivity

This function allows DocumentsCorePack users to add a document to every created activity (only when using the file explorer or SharePoint setup).

For example, when you send a mail to a marketing lists, an activity will be created for each member of the marketing list.

This extra setting will ensure that the activity also has the document attached in CRM.

This article will show you how to work with this function.

Create a new Settingskey

To do so, you first have to open the CRM Settings. Then, click on the mscrm-addons settings.

Select DocumentsCorePack and open it.

Click on SettingsKey. To create a new SettingsKey, you have to click on New mscrm-addons key.

In the following window, you can set the mscrm-addons key settings.

KeyName: Enter AttachDocumentToEachCreatedActivity. (Allows CRM to add the document to every created Activity in CRM [Bulkmail].)

KeyValue: Enter true (to activate) or false (to deactivate) the function.

What to do if no toolbar is visible in Office 2007, 2010, 2013 and/or 2016?

After WordMailMerge has been installed on your computer, it is possible that our toolbar does not appear in Microsoft Word. For newer versions of Microsoft Word, please have a look at this blog article.

To sort this problem out, please follow the steps of this article.

Please note:
Although the below example displays Word 2007 only, the steps are similar for all other Word versions.

Microsoft Word 2007:

First you have to open the Word-Options.

Then you have to click on the Add-ins-tab. Here, you get an overview on all the active add-ins and all the inactive add-ins.

Open the Manage drop-down menu and select disabled items.

In the window that opens now, you would see the disabled items, if there were any.

If there are no deactivated elements, open the Templates and Word-Add-Ins.

Here you have to select wordmailmerge.dot and save the changes with a click on the [OK]-button.

When you start Microsoft Office Word 2007 the next time, the www.mscrm-addons.com toolbar will appear.
