ActivityTools for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011

ActivityTools has been developed to simplify the CRM-internal handling of activities and emails by providing Microsoft Outlook-like visualization options and additional email-related functionalities (e.g. the possibility to generate email signatures and the possibility to change the default sender).

Main Functionalities:

  • Email Preview

    The Email Preview provides the possibility to display all emails related to an activity-enabled CRM entity (e.g. a contact, an account, etc.) in a Microsoft Outlook-like visualization. The emails are shown in form of a list on the left side and in a preview pane on the right side. The preview pane displays the email's content and attachments. You have the possibility to open attachments and to reply to, forward or print an email directly from within the preview pane and without the need to explicitly open the email.


  • Activity Preview

    The Activity Preview offers the possibility to display all activities related to a CRM record (e.g. contact, account, custom entity, etc.). The look and feel is similar as in the Email Preview. There is a list of all activities on the left side and a preview pane on the right side. Users can see the activity’s content as well as the attachments already within the preview pane. Attachments can be directly opened without the need to explicitly open the activity. All activity types (e.g. email, phone call, task, service task, letter, etc.), including custom activities, are supported. (Click here to watch the demonstration video)


  • My Activities view / My Emails view

    The My Activities view and the My Emails view show all activities/emails related to a CRM user in form of a list of activities/emails on the left side and a preview pane on the right side.


  • Previews in the standard CRM Activities-/Queues-/Dashboards-area and in CRM entities

    ActivityTools offers the possibility to display emails and activities in form of a list and a preview pane within the general standard CRM Activities-area, within the Activities-area in CRM entities and within the standard CRM Queues-area (activate the ‘ActivityPreview’ button in the CRM ribbon menu; click here to watch the demo video). All entity- and activity-types (including service activities) are supported. You can also embed the preview into your CRM dashboards easily.   • Search- and grouping options

    The addon provides search- and grouping-options within the Activity Preview, the Email Preview and the My Activities view. With the included search feature, it is possible to search for specific activities and emails and to access the search result easily from within the previews. The grouping option enables you to group the e-mails by subject, date or regarding and shows the results in a list .


  • E-mail-related functionalities

    • WYSIWYG-Editor
      The addon provides a WYSIWYG editor to generate email signatures in MS Dynamics CRM. By using this efficient editor which is capable of working with HTML as well as with plain text, it is very easy to create personal signatures or to import already existing signatures via copy & paste.

    • Default signatures
      With only a few steps you can generate a default email-signature for all users which will be added to emails automatically. Such default signatures help to create a uniform email layout within MS Dynamics CRM.

    • Default sender
      The possibility to define a default sender for your emails is often very useful, for example if all emails should be sent from one email address. (e.g. from the support team’s e-mail address, etc.).

    • Spellchecker
      The spellchecker provides a professional option to check and correct the content of emails. Unknown words are recognized and the user can choose whether he wants to use a suggested word, to extend the dictionary etc. Supported languages: English, French and German
